Guilty of explosion in Luhansk may be imprisoned up to eight years



The prosecutor's office of Luhansk region initiated pre-trial proceedings in explosion in a house in the 4 Shevchenko Street, Luhansk on August 11, the press service informs.

According to the report, the number of victims of gas explosion in an apartment on the 6th floor of a block of flats has increased to two people.

Details of the incident were entered into the unified register of pre-trial investigations under Part 2 of the Article 270 of the Criminal Code (Violation of fire safety requirements established by law).

The sanctions of the Article provides for up to 8 years of imprisonment.

Explosion occurred on August 11 in Luhansk in a building in the 4 Shevchenko Street. 

According to preliminary data, the cause of the tragedy was a gas explosion.


First deputy mayor of Luhansk Manolis Pilavov said that all the victims of the explosion will be provided with temporary accommodation.
